About the song

This was the band's debut single and it also features as the opening track of their album.

Born from a voice note in which Maria was humming the riff, she wrote the song with a temporal band that she was trying out back to 2019.
​
It wasn't until she met Dragos that the song got closer to what it is like today. `Running' is the reason why the band was formed in the first place as Maria needed session musicians to record the song for her university assignment therefore making it the first song that the band ever jammed together. It is this very recording that you can hear on the released version.

Running talks about that burning desire to break free and become your own person, feeling empowered in doing so, which is a theme that shows up again in the songs to follow.
